Answers to your dog robe questions

It really depends on the density of your dog’s coat and how wet they are. Once they’ve rubbed themselves in it, they tend to snuggle up and snooze.

All dog like us, are different, however dogs generally don’t like being wet and find our Dog Drying Robes snuggly and comfortable, as our fabric is 100% soft cotton and light to wear.

Many dogs don’t like the sound of Velcro and are scared of the ripping sound. It also gets covered in dog hair and stops working, or annoyingly gets stuck on other things.
Harbour Hounds is committed to not using any plastic on products, so we source metal components that can be recycled.

Some dogs do feel restricted in Dog Coats to start with, and this is often about the cut of the garment. When the Dog Coat is cut straight across the chest the dog feels they can’t move. Harbour Hounds Dog Drying Robes are shaped at the front and around the legs, so no restriction of movement.

Many Dog Drying Coats on the market just have leg straps and these are awkward for many dogs. Our tail hole design is more comfortable for the dog and stops the Dog Drying Robe slipping. Your dog can easily move around, and you can be happy that it will stay in place.

We use a 100% European cotton fabric that is soft very absorbent and snuggly for your dog to wear. Micro fabric is not as absorbent or comfortable for your dog. Also double layering fabric makes them heavy and easy to slip off your dog.

Our factory is OEKO-TEX certified. This means hazardous substances, such as heavy metals, toxic dyes, and carcinogens, are not used in the manufacture of our products.
This standard applies to various levels of production, such as raw and finished yarns, woven and knitted fabrics, accessories, sewing threads or labels, as well as ready-made garments.
For a whole garment to be certified, all its components need to have the STANDARD 100 certification.

What’s different about Harbour Hounds Dog Robes?
When we designed Harbour Hounds Dog Drying Towels we didn’t just think about how they would look on your dog (super cute and stylish), we wanted them to be practical and perform better than any other brands.
So we looked at all the Dog Drying Robes out there and put all the best bits into one. Along with our own must-haves.
We considered how your dog would feel in their Dog Drying Towel. We wanted them to snuggle and feel warm, while the robe does the work of absorbing and drying the wet coat. Our fabrics do just that! They are light, absorbent, and soft, leaving your dog to snuggle, snooze, and dream of their fun day.
The cut and fit of our robes allow our dogs to move freely and the tail hole stops them from slipping. We don’t use leg straps as they are awkward and not needed on our dog robes.
We know ‘no Velcro’ is a big winner…you tell us all the time. Plus the popper system adds to the style and flexibility, of different-sized tummies.
Our cowl neck not only looks great, warn up or down, but it also works well to tuck those soggy ears in.

Our Unique Design
The design of Harbour Hounds Dog Drying Towels is quite different from others:
Our turtleneck keeps the neck dry and warm and can be pulled up as a hood to dry those soggy ears.
The tail hole keeps the Dog Drying Towel in place so that it doesn't slip.
Quick popper fastening, rather than Velcro or plastic clips lasts longer. A lot of dogs are scared of the ripping sound of Velcro and it also gets stuck in the dogs’ hair.
No awkward leg straps.

This Dog Drying Robe is comfortable and non-restrictive, easy to put on and take off.

All componentry (i.e. poppers and D ring) is metal and fully recyclable and does not rust when getting wet.
Size guide
M - Miniature Dachshunds 34 - 39cm long ( neck to tail)
L - Standard Dachshunds 46 - 51cm long ( neck to tail)
To measure your Daschund for the correct size of the Dog Drying Towel, take the measurement of the length of the back, from the neck to the tail.
If your dog is between sizes, it is normally better to go with the smaller size, as the larger size may be too big overall. Our sizing is generally a bit bigger than other brands.
The belly strap has three adjustments, so allows plenty of room to fit around your dog.
